The workout area and screen porch is the most recent project completed in an on-going, multi-phase project, spanning 30 years with the owners and touching every area of this particular residence. The initial project was a small area off the master bath for a few pieces of exercise equipment. Coming full circle, and with larger, more technical and specific equipment, more space was needed. The new area, with operable skylights, spans between two courtyards opening out to both. The smaller courtyard allows room for message tables and has a fountain designed for the space with gazelle heads trickling water. The screened porch is surrounded by a verdant landscape and has a see-thru fireplace for cooler months. Adjacent is an open-air shower. Other projects included a new family room where a display for the owner’s collection of electric guitars is located (he is a retired orthodontist & rock and roller not retired). Above the family room is his “study” with additional music equipment and a collection of vintage amplifiers on display – all instruments operable.
